Leymer Entertainment Complex
Type: Leisure – Entertainment
Scale: 14000 sqm
Leymer, a name borrowed from the rebellious winds of the south, is not merely a metaphor in this project but the manifesto of our approach to the harsh climate of the site.
Faced with an extremely elongated and linear plot, the temptation to build a monolithic mass could have turned the site into a solid barrier against the sea breeze; instead, we chose the strategy of “Dispersion.”
By fragmenting the physical program into distinct patches, the project’s body became porous, allowing airflow to penetrate freely into the site’s arteries while simultaneously opening transparent frames that connect the infinite horizon of the sea to the cityscape.
All these functional islands—ranging from digital gaming spaces and cinemas to water sports zones—rest beneath the shelter of “expansive shading roofs,” which, in this climate, define the thin line between habitation and erosion. One of the project’s aspects is the transformation of the roof from a mere shelter into a “productive landscape.”
By establishing organic agricultural plots atop each zone, we created a compelling juxtaposition of “production” alongside “consumption.” This approach elevates the roof from a forgotten element into an economic resource for supplying the complex’s restaurants, offering a new model of coexistence between architecture, micro-economy, and nature, where the building itself functions as a living organism.
