GUILAN UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE

Type: Monument – Cultural

Scale: 2000 sqm

We perceive the entrance not as a static object, but as a “Kinetic Transition.” We reject the idea of the highway as a mere road; it is a “Linear Disruption” that imposes a contextual rift. Our manifesto is rooted in the architecture of “Intentional Delay.” By resurrecting the Persian Jolo-khan, we create a spatial filter that de-accelerates the urban flow. The project utilizes the “Axial Opening” of the Persian Garden to replace the highway’s chaos with an ecological order, transforming a functional boundary into a “Social Interface.”

The design of the University of Guilan entrance acts as a “Mediator” between two incompatible scales: the Macro-Velocity of the highway and the Micro-Experience of the campus. To counteract the highway’s visual noise, the project introduces a “Submerged Path” and an elevated “Soffeh,” creating a hierarchy that honors the pedestrian. The curved concrete wings serve as “Spatial Funnels,” absorbing the city’s scattered energy and channeling it into a unified visual corridor inspired by the Shazdeh Garden’s layout.

Every circulation path—from the professor’s discrete access to the student’s collective journey—is deciphered through a rigorous network of Movement Essences, ensuring that the entry is a sequence of discovery rather than a mere crossing. The structure, with its contemporary tectonic expression, stands as a “Reference Landmark” that anchors the university’s identity within the region’s climate and historical DNA.
