Arvand Hotel Complex
Type: Hotel – Leisure
Scale: 81000 sqm
The Arvand River is the lifeblood of Basra and a symbol of its identity. However, over many years, only one side of this river has witnessed development and presence.
Through this project, we sought to return the Arvand River to the heart of urban life and create a new identity for its less-developed side.
The Arvand Hotel Complex is shaped by a simple strategy: using nature’s hidden potential to create a new urban horizon. We designed spaces that allow people to reconnect with the river. The plan creates a dynamic and complete ecosystem along the river by offering a variety of functions such as residential, commercial, recreational spaces, and green infrastructure.
This project is not just a comprehensive plan for regional development, but an effort to restore a soul to a river; a place where people can experience a high quality of life together, connected to nature.
